About Us

From our founding on June 24, 1895, Immanuel Lutheran Church has served as a beacon of hope in Manchester, consistently proclaiming Christ Jesus as the only way to eternal life. We accept without reservation the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as the written Word of God and the only rule and norm of faith and practice. We also subscribe to the Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church as found in the Book of Concord (1580) as a true and unadulterated exposition of the Word of God. For our entire history, Immanuel has been a member of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

Our mission statement: “Proclaiming the unchanging Christ in a changing world”

We believe that the Word of God is the only means through which the Holy Spirit brings the unregenerate into Christ’s fold. Therefore, we are committed to spreading God’s Word—the only source of unchanging truth—within our community, New England, and the world. In spite of the unsteady grounds of constantly changing worldly wisdom, we profess the True Gospel, unchanged and unwavering: “God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Come worship with us. All are welcome.
